POPIA has come into effect and data privacy is on everyone’s mind.  As such, we thought we would highlight a few of the ways you can protect your data.

Keep Your Personal Info Safe
While Duckie Dell Daycare CC is ensuring that we are POPIA compliant when we are handling your and your child / children’s information, it is important that you take the necessary care when sharing your personal information with other people. Here are some important tips. 

Do not share a copy of your ID document or drivers’ license online
These copies can be downloaded and used to fraudulently open accounts or to scam others. Do not share your ID document or number freely. Someone may ask for a copy of your ID to do a background check but be careful who you share a copy with.

Never share your SARS eFiling information
There are plenty of tax practitioners that offer to do your taxes for you for a fee, but if you engage with one, don’t simply hand over your SARS eFiling login information. Your tax account contains sensitive information and you do not want it falling into the wrong hands. If you do want a tax practitioner to do your eFiling for you, you can request it in your eFiling app.

At Duckie Dell Daycare CC, your safety is our top priority. We are committed to protecting your and your child / children’s information safe, in accordance with the various applicable laws and best practices, including the ones highlighted in the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Only collecting personal information for the purposes of doing business with you and will use the information only for that purpose.
•   Take reasonable measures to keep your and your child / children’s personal information secure.
•   Only retaining your and your child / children’s personal information for as long as is necessary or in accordance with applicable laws.
•   Never sell or share your or your child / children’s personal information to third parties under any circumstances.
•   Ensure that when we share your and your child / children’s personal information to any third party that we have your written permission to do so.
